Dennis M. Lynch Arena

The Dennis M. Lynch Arena originally opened in January of 1974. The building was partially damaged by fire in 1978 and restored with an addition to the front of the building in 1979. During this period people such as Dennis M. Lynch, Andrew Ferland, and Vic Santino put in a lot of hard work and effort to ensure the rink was successful.   The arena grew in popularity and became a central destination for ice sport enthusiasts throughout the Blackstone Valley. As the building and equipment aged, the City of Pawtucket did not have the funding needed to keep up with the rigorous demands that are required to make an ice rink mechanically successful.

On August 3rd, 2009, Blackstone Valley Sports, a group of local investors, took ownership of the arena. The new ownership has two primary goals in mind. First, being there to serve the youth of the Blackstone Valley and second, restoring the rink to top mechanical condition. The members of the Blackstone Valley Sports Center team are committed to restoring a community sense of pride as well as a safe and attractive environment for local residents to utilize and enjoy.

It is the goal of the BVS team to enhance the physical image as well as the energy efficiency of the arena by 2010.  The Blackstone Valley Sports Center members look forward to any input and hope that their efforts make the Dennis M. Lynch Arena a comfortable and secure skating facility.
